A lot of the fresh produce weren't fresh at the supermarkets I went to, so buying frozen fruits was less expensive, and easier overall since I use frozen fruits for my smoothies. All of my smoothies were made with water, and coconut water. I also drank green tea, tumeric shiitake mushroom tea.
Yes, you will get hungry at times. Yes, the smell of fresh fries in the air will be a little stronger than ever, Yes, any food on the TV, social media or the people around you will look extra good. My cravings included donuts, sesame tofu, and chicken wings- just cause. I had an almond milk yogurt in my fridge that I ate on the first day because I know I'd keep looking at it everyday wanting to eat it. I'd snack on popcorn and rice cakes in between meals in the beginning because I didn't know any better.
I'm grateful for this journey, and I look forward to other fasts/ diets in the future- raw vegan diet is probably next.
