5 Plant Based Protein Drinks

Most people’s first question when they find out I’m vegan is, “Where do you get your protein from?” The easy answer is from the plants I eat, but I get help from protein powders as well. When I started my weightloss journey in 2013, I was eating protein bars here & there. At some point, I added protein powders to my smoothie recipes. I’ve tried so many different brands over the years, and finally found my favorite brand.

Medical News Today shares the Health Benefits of protein powders.

Making healthier decisions for my life usually starts with exercise. I’ve played sports and been active most of my life. But like Lauryn Hill says, “How you gonna win if you ain’t right within?” How can I perform at my best athletic abilities if I’m not eating clean?

My first time trying Arbonne Protein was in protein balls- vanilla protein powder, almond butter, agave, and oatmeal (vegan and gluten free). I was obsessed with the flavor combination. I individually sampled their Marble Cake, Chai, Vanilla, and Chocolate Protein Powders with either water, Rice Milk, or Almond Milk.

I currently have the Vanilla and Chocolate flavors from the Arbonne 30 Day Clean Eating Program. I like to freestyle and make my own recipes, depending on my cravings. Some of my favorites include:

Of course, you can still mix your protein powder with water, if that’s how you prefer it. Lately I’ve been mixing my protein powder with non dairy milk, adding MCT oil if it’s the first smoothie of the day.
